A male hiker, age unknown, was hiking in the vicinity of Mount Kimball when he apparently lost the trail and was unable to proceed. He contacted 911 on his cell phone and Ranger 38 responded with Mykle on board to attempt to locate and airlift the subject out of the field. Ranger was able to set Mykle down near the subject and he subsequently made contact. The subject was tired and dehydrated but otherwise uninjured. After some rest and water, the subject was able to exit the field under his own power. Volunteers were paged at approximately 1737 to standby for what was expected to be an air evacuation, however, Ranger was not able to get close enough to do this, so a page for rescue teams to support Mykle's walk-out of the subject was made at approximately 1756. All personnel were out of the field by 2133.
